Gaza in Colors

Stories from Behind the Wall

Help bring this interactive multimedia exhibition to more venues, with more artists -- and even help build it out as a free-standing exhibition.

Starting with five artists, Rebuilding Alliance is bringing together a collection of original works by Gaza artists seeking to share their humanity with the outside world. Despite the ongoing eleven year-long blockade imposed by Israel and Egypt on the Gaza Strip, the violence and human rights tragedies that surround them, these artists are using their creativity to translate a dark reality into art. Film and interactive teleconferences, Live from Gaza, offer further insight.

The Artists will directly benefit from all purchases of their artwork — and so in one small, important way, our exhibition will open the blockade through art.

Two speakers, live from Gaza, are joining us today at the opening of a remarkable art exhibition at San Francisco State University.  Writer Anas Jnena and Entrepreneur Majd Mashharawi are getting up at 3am Jerusalem time to be with us!   Joining us in person is poet Lorene Zaru-Zouzounis and famed qanounist, Ali Paris.

You may know that Rebuilding Alliance's executive director traveled to Gaza twice in the past three months ... what we are seeing is heartbreaking and also filled with dignity.  Come hear their voices in this interactive art exhibition, and help bring the interactive exhibition to a venue in your town.
