Presenting #SaveSusiya at the House and Senate

Face to Face with the Children of Palestinian Villages Slated for Demolition

Rebuilding Alliance brought a delegation of Palestinian children from Susiya and from Um Al Kheir Village (also under demolition orders), their distinguished parents and an Israeli member of Villages Group, to meet with members of Congress on September 21 - International Peace Day. We asked members of Congress to take two simple actions: to call the State Department and the Israeli Embassy to tell them you care about peace and you care about keeping these villages standing.

On Sep. 22nd, an important Senator from California spent an hour with the children and parents from Susiya and Umm Al Kheir, two of the 149 Palestinian Villages issued demolition orders by the Israeli Army. Rebuilding Alliance asks your help to extend our delegation’s stay so that they can continue sharing their stories with congress, press, and the public to stop the demolition of their villages and assure recognition of their right to plan and live on the land they own.

On Sep. 28th, we presented a 2nd briefing, this time from the Senate Rules Committee Meeting room. Our tour ends on this Thursday, following a presentation at Wesleyan University!
