“Hope is a state of mind, not of the world. Hope, in this deep and powerful sense, is not the same as joy that things are going well, or willingness to invest in enterprises that are obviously heading for success, but rather an ability to work for something because it is good.”
Families have lived in Elizabeth House for 23 years, and 80% have left with self-sustainable life skills. Your donations keep families together, in a warm safe environment where mothers can attain their life goals without the stress of wondering will my child or children eat today, and have a place to lay their heads tonight.
In 2015, let’s resolve to focus our time, efforts, and shared values on cultivating stronger, healthier communities by becoming a monthly donor. Your donations are an investment in your community, as well as an investment in Oakland Elizabeth House, where hope lives.
