Giving Tuesday

Help homeless families thrive at Raphael House.

Giving Tuesday is celebrated the Tuesday after Thanksgiving and is the unofficial start of the charitable season. Since its inaugural year in 2012, Giving Tuesday has become a movement that celebrates and supports giving and philanthropy with events throughout the year and a growing catalog of resources. Last year donors raised $21,162 for Raphael House on this day of giving.

Raphael House is a an exceptional homeless shelter for Bay Area families, with 31 private rooms located in the Tenderloin neighborhood of San Francisco.  For over 45 years, we have been at the forefront of providing solutions to parents and children to help break the cycle of homelessness and poverty.  We provide a clean, safe shelter with individual family rooms, nutritious meals every day, personalized case management for career development and housing placement, tutoring and art therapy programs for children, mental health care, health education, and a big-picture comprehensive plan for families to successfully become and remain stable with their housing and finances.  Our success rate in unmatched - two years after graduating from Raphael House, 85% of our families still maintain sustainable housing and jobs, and 90% of their children have improved academic performance.
