We would like to thank everyone for helping Moses reach his goal. Because of your help and generosity, we were able to move forward and schedule Moses' surgery for April 30th. We will keep everyone updated as we know more.

Our Sanctuary boy Moses is in desperate need of your help to provide him with surgery.
Moses arrived to Iron Gait for retirement with an enlarged hock from a previous injury, never showing any real signs of lameness until now. After recent concerns and a thorough Veterinary investigation, we found that he has multiple bone chips surrounding his left hock which has now begun hindering his movement and his ability to rise up on his own after he lays down. We now have to assist him back to his feet on occasions. He is on daily supplements and meds to help keep him comfortable until surgery.
We can get him scheduled for this immediately, but, we need the funds to be able do it. He is such a sweet boy and deserves a life pain free. He has been on daily supplement for this since his arrival. At only 12 years old he has an entire life infront of him. Moses is not sound due to years of Jousting and 20 meter circles for vaulting in a Circus.
With completion of this surgery Dr. Carly is very positive that Moses should regain more movement being able to live the rest of his life pain free with 'possible' light riding within his future.
Surgery was estimated between $2000.-$2,500. Which includes his post op care, treatments and medication.
With unforseen recent set backs like a recent flood and our farm truck needing a new engine here at the Sanctuary. We currently can not afford to do this alone anytime in the near future.
