100 Reasons to Give

Amy Thran is Running a 100 Mile Race to raise $10,000 for ABR

Help us raise $10,000 to provide FREE running legs to our next 3 Amputee Grant Recipients. Amy Thran has teamed up with Amputee Blade Runners, as she runs the Umstead 100 Mile Race, to help raise money and awareness for our organization!

Amputee Blade Runners is a 501 (C)3 Non Profit, that provides free running & sports legs to amputees that are a seeking a more active lifestyle.  Insurance only covers the cost of a walking leg for most amputees, therefore they are required to pay cash prices, which start around $10,000 and only go up from there. With time being donated by out team members, we are able to provide these legs free of charge to amputees and able to keep our cost to around $3,000 per leg.

Over the past 3 years, Amputee Blade Runners has helped over 50 individuals, in 26 states, realize their dreams of running again, or for some the first time.  We believe that providing someone with the right piece of equipment, it has the ability to change the course of their life moving forward.

We have the next 3 applicants chosen & will announce 1 each week, starting on Monday, March 2.

About Amy Thran:

Discovering running in 2004, Amy wanted her training and her racing to have a meaning.  As a participant and mentor for Team in Tranining, Amy fully embraced training for endurance events, while raising money for worthwhile causes.

To date, Amy has run countless marathons, raising $30,000+ dollars to benefit LLS, Brown Dog Foundation, and Flying Kites Orphanage.  We are privileged to partner with Amy, as she runs the Umstead 100 to raise money and awareness for Amputee Blade Runners!
