The Rev. Adrienne Terry Fund for Affordable Housing

Growing a Legacy of Homes and Hope for All

In the Spring of 2015, several United Methodists in DC decided that together we could do something significant to solve the problem of affordable housing and the negative impact of gentrification. The Rev. Adrienne Terry was a founding leader of what became known as InspireDC’s Affordable Housing Coalition (AHC). Her vast experience with affordable housing—including her efforts to stop the displacement of hundreds of residents in SW—and her heart for children and those on the margins was instrumental in catalyzing this effort.

Rev. Terry's sudden death on June 25, 2016 was a significant blow as AHC leaders and friends grieved our loss of her bright light. It is our hope that this fund will honor her legacy and help fuel the momentum of this movement toward affordable housing for all in DC and, eventually, the surrounding metropolitan area.

Churches in the Greater Washington District of the United Methodist Church were challenged to find 12 people each to make a monthly contribution of $43 (the number of zipcodes in which our church buildings reside). Once you make your donation, please pass the invitation on to your friends and family. Together, we can make a significant difference!

100% of all donations to this fund are directed toward the strategic acquisition and maintenance of affordable housing primarily for very low income families. Learn more about additional options to ensure everyone in DC has a roof over their heads.
