The Williams Project Season 3

The Glass Menagerie and Blues for Mister Charlie

The Williams Project was founded in 2014 to make theatre that welcomes,

entertains, and challenges a diverse and engaged audience while paying artists a living wage. In only two seasons we have grown from a two-week workshop to

creating a production of Orpheus Descending that was a Seattle Times Top Ten Play and BroadwayWorld’s Best Play of the Year.

Our third season is our most ambitious yet. We need your support to create two fresh takes on modern classics.

THE GLASS MENAGERIE-

You’re invited to a dinner party hosted by Amanda Wingfield. Presented as a co-

production with Café Nordo, this reimagining of Tennessee Williams’ haunting

family drama will put you inside the small, St. Louis apartment where one family

struggles to reconcile freedom and family. The play builds to an important dinner party for a special guest, or in our case, 70 special guests.

BLUES FOR MISTER CHARLIE-

James Baldwin’s searing response to the murder of Emmitt Till is a rarely produced masterpiece that explores racial violence with honesty, music, dark humor, and compassion. Produced in four church spaces around Seattle, the play looks at a bleak situation and calls on us to engage with each other to take action.

SUPPORT THE WILLIAMS PROJECT

Our company tries to make all of our pieces accessible to a wide audience while also paying our artists a living wage. To do this, we need your support. Thanks to our partnership with Café Nordo, your donation goes through a 501c(3) organization, and is tax deductible to the fullest extent of the law. And though we hope supporting engaging, vital theatre is reward enough, there are a few perks we can offer as well. Thank you in advance for your support.
We hope to see you in the theatre!
