"Although I do not suffer personally from the disease, I think it’s fair to say that it is something that has impacted each of us in our own way. We have all known someone battling cancer and for whatever reason, we feel helpless. We don’t believe or understand how one person can change the fact that the world is suffering and people are dying. This is the exact reason I’m dedicating my thru-hike to support her and anyone who cares to find a cure. Although this is something I’m choosing to do, this will be very challenging for me but I know that if Kayla can fight the way she does and have the faith that she does, anyone can overcome their challenges and mountains can be moved."
