So, I'm usually the type to quietly write a check and go on my merry way, but this year Anne (the sanctuary director) challenged me to move out of my comfort zone and help her drum up some extra funds for Thundering Paws, a no-kill animal sanctuary that has been operating near me for the last 15 or so years. They have had an especially busy and chaotic kitten season this spring and summer, and they could use extra help to keep the newest little ones fed and well cared for.
My birthday is coming up in less than a week, so if you've been saving up for a gift, send it on to the kittens instead. They need it more than I do!
And to make it really interesting, for every dollar that comes in over the next 10 days, I WILL MATCH IT. I've set the goal currently at $1000, but if you guys blow through it, I'll open my wallet even wider and keep matching until Miss Sequel (my cat, for those of you who never see her) cuts me off with a swat of her paw.
